Orlando, FL January 18, 2008 – The Central Florida Police Benevolent Association (CFPBA) and Florida Police Benevolent Association (FPBA) announced today their endorsement of John Tegg for Orange County Sheriff. "All the candidates we surveyed and screened are to be commended for courageously stepping up as public servants and leaders in our community. We confidently endorse John Tegg based on his ongoing vision and plans to properly address major quality of life issues in our local community and the Orange County Sheriff's Office itself. Specifically, Mr. Tegg states that he will provide the best leadership he can offer for his employees and the communities' best interests. The PBA's cooperative working relationship with Mr. Tegg and his leaders will help accomplish this worthy mission, said John Park, President of the Central Florida PBA. The PBA endorsement is one of the most difficult endorsements for a candidate to receive and one of the most highly sought after because of the strength and prestige associated with it. The Central Florida PBA’s mission is to enhance and protect the best interests of the law enforcement community while promoting professionalism which has a "positive mirror effect" throughout our local communities. The Central Florida PBA is a local chapter of the Florida PBA which represents almost 36,000 law enforcement officers and their families throughout Florida. Read the press release here.
