Demand to Negotiate
Dear Captain McKinley,
It has come to our knowledge via a newspaper article published in the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper late last week, that the Sheriff is offering an additional incentive package to qualified Captains and higher ranking command staff that is not now available to bargaining unit members of the Sheriff’s Office.
Pursuant to Article 13 – Compliance with General and Special Orders and Substitution of Modifications; specifically Section 4, the Association hereby formally demands to negotiate for the bargaining unit members of both units, the same benefits and adjustments that were offered to the Captains and higher Command Staff.
We preserve our right to file class action grievances for both units for the failure on the part of the Sheriff to notify the Association as required under Article 13; Section 4.
Your prompt response to this correspondence is appreciated, since time is of the essence.
Sincerely, Stephen A. Micciche Lead Negotiator for the FPBA
