Status Quo as defined by Webster's Dictionary is "the existing state of affairs."
PBA defines "status quo" similarly with regard to extending the duration of "the existing state of affairs" for a legitimate "status quo" contract. In other words, the PBA believes the Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) should only "extend" the duration of the current contract to offer a real "status quo" contract.
OCSO defines status quo in some other nefarious way because the "status quo" contract they are offering is far from "the existing state of affairs" in our current contract. As a matter of fact, there are many changes in OCSO's so-called status quo contract in major issues such as "wages, health insurance, grievances, transfers, seniority, me-too clauses, overtime pay, employee representation, performance appraisals, etc."
In summary, the OCSO is misleading YOU by inaccurately stating that they are offering a "status quo" contract to the PBA. In fact, they are NOT and we are disappointed with the OCSO's ongoing attempts to try to divide and conquer our membership by using misleading propoganda. We will have more info soon so please stand by for a PBA update providing further details. Please contact your PBA leaders for the truth and get out of the OCSO spin zone before it makes you sick!
